Open textbooks are funded, peer-reviewed, published, and licensed to be freely used, adapted and distributed.  Whether you are a faculty member thinking of adopting an open textbook or a student looking for a supplementary resource to your college studies, these sites will be a great place to get started.

BCcampus Open Textbook Initiative 
Designed to save students money!  Search their collection of over 200 open peer-reviewed textbooks.
Faculty, often your course is not the textbook and you are looking to adapt, and/or combine a number of textbooks in order to align with the competencies/learning outcomes of your course.  BCcampus has great resources on how to adapt an open textbook.

University of Minnesota Open Textbook Library
This library provides a growing catalog of free, peer-reviewed, and openly-licensed textbooks.

OpenStax
Based at Rice University this nonprofit’s mission is to improve student access to education.  Free, peer reviewed college and AP textbooks.

MIT OpenCourseware Online Textbooks
MIT provides open-licensed online textbooks.  However, some are self-published online books, or course notes that align with a specific course.

Learning Pod
Practice testing is a powerful learning tool and assists with calibrating what is known and not known.  The Learning Pod provides free access to over 50,000 online questions to support your open learning.
