This community of learners will support you with learning how to create a personal learning network, find an open course, open textbook or many other open resources.

Creating a Personal Learning Network
We believe it is important to support learners with learning how to leverage technology (i.e. social media) to connect with people (peers and experts), learning resources (i.e. open education resources or open courseware) and learning environments (i.e. open courses) to research, reflect, create, collaborate and share knowledge as part of the active learning process (Arthur, 2011).

Self-Directed Learning
In order to thrive and learn in open environments it helps to grow as a self-directed learner. We will support learners with learning how to set learning goals, assess the demands of a learning task, evaluate their own knowledge and skills, plan their approach, monitor their progress and adjust their strategies as needed and reflect/evaluate their strategies upon completion to determine improvement for next time.

Support with Learning How to Learn
There are online academic coaching and tutoring groups that will support you with learning in complex learning environments.  ScholarlyLearning.ca specializes in helping students learn how to learn, so that they can thrive in any environment.
